FALL IN DEEP - 2024 EXHIBITION
Spring 2024 Graduating Senior Art exhibition held at Azusa Pacific University.
This exhibition merged art and technology by providing music with each artwork included. Playing on the idea of synesthesia, each work had the song that inspired it accessible via a QR code beside it. Viewers were encouraged to bring a pair of headphones or earbuds to listen to the music when interacting with the work.

The Call
Song: U - Millenium Parade ft. Belle
Plug in your headphones. Press play. It may not look like much from the outside, but the headphones aren't just devices, but with each song they open portals to different worlds. Colors fly as thresholds to different kinds of worlds manifest before me: past, present, future, fantastical and mundane, all for my eyes only. I, the artist, experience this as I put my headphones on, but now it's your turn. Let the music sweep you off your feet and take you somewhere new.

Reminiscence & Regret
Song: Style - Taylor Swift
The Synths in this song's intro easily puts me in a nostalgic mood. This piece puts more emphasis on the nostalgia factor, mainly the 'algia' part which translates to 'pain,' explaining the monochrome blue palette of the work. The joy of the past comforts but a tinge of sorrow remains as she swims through a sea of memories, reflecting on what the past once had.

The Nymphs' Garden
Song: Je Ne Sais Quoi - Odd Eye Circle
The fluttery synths in the beginning instantly set a beautifully serene tone, with once again, an almost ethereal feel. A trio of beautiful maidens happily frolic about in a secluded, hidden garden. One of them runs to join her friend surrounded by flowers, but suddenly stops… she senses your presence. Quick! Hide amongst the flowering bushes, because you both know you’re not supposed to be here. Either way, this place and those within it captivate you nonetheless.

Cosmic
Song: Aura - WJSN
This song's ethereal and majestic sound, especially in the intro really helps one zone out into the beautiful and infinite expanse of space. The entire song, from the intro to the chorus feels grand, making you feel one with the cosmos and the forces of the universe. Let the stars entrance you in a regal, cosmic serenade as the forces of universe coexist in perfect balance.

Clockwork Waltz
Song: Feel My Rhythm - Red Velvet
This song starts off with Bach’s Air on the G String, a classical piece of music that instantly paints a fancy, almost royal setting. Dancers take their positions for a grand waltz, but then plot twist- electronic drums, clinks and clangs, and trap beats burst in, adding a mechanical feel to it almost like clockwork while still keeping its initial elegance as Bach’s classical melody remains throughout the song.

Serenity
Song: Embrace - Dryve ft. Llynks
Long road trips are complete chaos— unless you have a pair of headphones with you. With that, then it's total serenity, with the motion of the car easily rocking you to sleep. It's even better when you have the whole third row to yourself, so you can put your feet up and spread out as much as you want as you watch the setting sun before reaching your destination. This song perfectly embodies the feeling of looking at the setting sun over the ocean while on a nostalgic road trip.

This song invokes the feeling of being at peace underwater. Imagine drowning, but in the most peaceful way, quietly falling asleep underwater as you slowly sink beneath the waves. As the sunlight ripples through the waves above, like the jellyfish that surround you, surrender to the comforting depths of the ocean.

Remnant
Song: Soarele si Luna - Pasha Parfeni
Legends tell of an ancient battle that took place in a sacred forest. The flutes howl like the midnight wind, along with sounds of military drums as if echoing from the past. The moon creates a spotlight, with all 3 serving as a chilling reminder of what unfolded during that foretold battle. But above all the wreckage, a mysterious lone silhouette looms over the battlefield in the pale moonlight, giving the notion that something still remains. Is it a spirit? A ghost? A memory? Its eyes follow you as you piece together what happened here all those years ago.

There's something about this song that evokes a feeling of childhood wonder when seeing the full night sky. And by that, I mean with ALL of the stars, galaxy clouds, comets, and even the planets. The twinkling vibraphones instantly paint twinkling stars, displaying the beauty of the night sky but with a cozy, nostalgic feel at the same time, filling you with comfort by the wonders of the universe both in your room and in the sky above.

NOTE: This is the only one where i thought of a specific place. All other places are nondescript.
This song has an almost fairytale-like aura, but with a wistful, modern twist like a modern day fantasy. Everyone dreams of the starry sky in Paris, the modern-day fairytale city. But what if this 'fairytale' you're living isn't all what you hoped it would be? Wistfully looking out from your balcony at the Eiffel Tower in the distance, don’t you wish you could slip back into the whimsy of a fantasy? Let the orchestra and the stars whisk you away, back into those childhood fairytale dreams you once had.

Pitter-Patter
Song: Haggstrom - C418
Something about this song feels not only cozy, but one of my fondest memories is of playing Minecraft inside on a rainy day. Hearing the pitter-patter of the rain as well as this calming tune at the same time soothes both me and my soul. The ‘plink’ of the thumb piano resembles the raindrops, softly falling on the ground outside.

After driving up the mountains to leave your old home, you pull over and take one last look at everything you’ve ever known before leaving it all behind, fading into the past like the sun on the horizon. One last look, one last goodbye, before a new life begins.

Twinkling Wonder
Song: Birthday - Ryuryu ft. Miku Hatsune
The twinkling notes that play throughout this song make me think of twinkling flames soaring in the night sky above. And when seeing something as beautiful as this we are instilled with this sense of wonder, that of a child. We become children marveling at the beauty that shines in the darkness.

A Lonely Ride
Song: Cornelia Street - Taylor Swift
The drums of the chorus become the chugging wheels of an urban transit train. The train car is completely empty except for you, watching the passing city skyline and reflection, looking wistfully into the oncoming tracks. Alone with your thoughts, quietly clutch your red backpack and ponder on where this train, and to some extent, life, is taking you. Even then, you don't care because you're just here for the ride.
